The next two weeks are jam packed with exciting events in Downtown. As the hub of entertainment for the Capital Region, downtown Albany offers performances of all disciplines. Start your engines, and go to as many events as you can. Enjoy all of your favorite fall activities and cap off your day with an evening of entertainment at one of the many great Downtown venues.

2 down, 2 to go. The Downtown Jazz Fest Competition and Downtown Residential Open House events proved to be a success bringing over 1,000 people to Downtown and we are not stopping there. October 13 marks the date for our free Fall Car Show and the start of the week long Restaurant Week. Also, make sure to stop by PearlPalooza which kicks off this Saturday, September 22 at noon. Save the dates and take advantage of these great events. See you Downtown.

Enjoy a wonderful dining experience with award-winning chef and restaurateur, Yono Purnomo, at his name-sake restaurant, Yono's. All five courses will be paired with an appropriate wine. The evening will begin with Hors d'oeuvres and ends with a Silent Auction.

The Albany Devils and Siena Basketball seasons are only one month away, but that doesn't mean you can't get your sports fix now. On September 24 pump up the adrenalin with WWE Monday Night Raw or swing by on September 26 to see the Rangers and the Devils duke it out in a pre season match.

After a hard day's work head over to Blue 82 Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM for Happy Hour Specials with acoustic music to accompany your beverage. On Wednesdays stick around a little longer for Blue 82's team trivia which starts at 8:30 PM. Winning team receives a $50 Blue 82 gift certificate.
Jazz at Bistro/Bar at 74

The Bistro/Bar at 74 celebrates the American art of jazz, with live performances every Saturday at 8:30 PM. This Saturday's performance will feature the Lee Shaw Trio. The Bistro/Bar at 74 features stunning floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking historic State Street.  Lunch and light fare will be served.

The County Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center, B'yond Style, and the NYS Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence are offering a free morning workshop for employers/employees in the Capital Region to understand the impact of domestic violence in the office and discuss how their response can assist the victim and increase everyone's safety. The workshop is taking place at 112 State Street, Cahill Room. Contact Karen Ziegler for more info.

An Evening with Joe Bonamassa

Award-winning blues rock star, guitar hero and singer-songwriter Joe Bonamassa and his ace touring band will perform in concert at the Palace Theatre in Albany, NY on May 11th. The one-night-only show is in support of his brand new solo album Driving Towards The Daylight (J&R Adventures) which made its chart debut at #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart, the 8th time a Bonamassa album has debuted at #1.
