Albany JCC technology sessions

Two "Technology Made Easy" sessions presented by technology specialist Ronald Roberts, Jr are planned by the Albany Jewish Community Center.  "Electronics: TVs, Tablets, Telephones & Computers" will be offered on Tuesday, August 28, 2 -4pm and "Social Media" is scheduled on Friday, September 7, 10am -12pm.  Each workshop is free, open to the community, requires a reservation- and will be held in the Albany JCC's Massry Senior Center, 340 Whitehall Road.  Roberts has worked in technology, educating Sam's Club members in their purchasing decisions for over 4 years.
Buying digital technology today involves complex technical terms and options.  It's easy to get lost in the electronics aisle looking for the right TV, digital tablet, mobile phone or computer.  In the first session participants will learn: how to navigate today's technology to find the right device for them, the basics about high tech use, how to stay safe on the internet using common safe computing practices and how to convert home videos to DVD and Digital.
The internet offers many ways to communicate with friends and family and social media has become the most popular and easiest way to keep in touch.  The second workshop will help people get started, with instruction about Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Pandora -and more.
