Attempted Robbery Arrest

Albany police arrested an 18 year old Pinewood Avenue resident for attempting to rob a man last night on Ontario Street.
Police responded to the Playdium Bowling Alley, 363 Ontario Street, just before 11:00 p.m., after the victim called stating that a man just tried to rob him. When officers arrived, the victim told them that while in the parking lot, the suspect came up to him and demanded his cell phone. He states he refused to give him the phone, and that the suspect then punched him in the face and struck him in the head with a large piece of concrete.
The suspect then fled south on Ontario Street.
Shortly after the call, officers in the area stopped Raymeir Worthen, of 30 Pinewood Avenue, walking at Quail and Warren Streets after he matched the description of the suspect. He was identified as the suspect and placed into custody without incident.
The victim sustained a small laceration to his head. He was treated at the scene by firefighters and taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Worthen was charged with Attempted Robbery 2nd, Assault 2nd, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th.
He was arraigned this morning in Albany City Criminal Court.
