Registration is now open for the 2012 National Little League season. Opening Day of National's 61st season is Saturday, April 21. There are five levels of baseball open to boys and girls in the neighborhood from ages 4 to 12, starting with Tee Ball for children ages 4 and 5 (children must be 4 years old by April 30 to be eligible to play Tee Ball).
National is Albany's original Little League. The league is committed to building character through the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play, and to providing Albany's youth a fun, safe, and competitive baseball program. All teams are coached by a dedicated staff of Albany parents and volunteers.
Online registration is available at http://www.sportssignup.com/nllalbany-Online-Registration.start. Or, if you prefer, you can sign your children up at one of the league's in-person registration dates, which will be held on March 10 and March 24, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the National Little League clubhouse at the corner of Partridge and Providence streets. More information about the league and about registration can be found at www.nllalbany.org.
Come join your friends and neighbors for another fun-filled season and be a part of this annual rite of spring that helps make our neighborhood a great place to live.
